Abstract: | The claims were originally granted in 1988. In that year, Northern Gold applied to undertake costeaning and possibly drilling over an area that included the northeastern corner of MCN 2399. Some work was apparently undertaken on the MCN and disturbance resulted. Neither the Department under the Mining Act nor the present leaseholders have any record of this work other than reported under the surrounding EL. Johns and Dixon obtained the MCNs from Mr Harbrough in 2003. In 2005, Mr Dixon and Mr Johns spent minimal time on the claims because of the long wet season and because of other commitments. They did not use plant or heavy equipment, but noted apparent recent unauthorised activity which had resulted in some disturbance. In 2006, the claims were prospected using metal detectors and the boundaries and pegs maintained. |
