Title: Samples of drill cuttings from Magee 1 petroleum well
Report id: CSR0049
Year: 2009
Corporate Author: Rum Jungle Uranium
Drillhole/Well Name: Magee 1
Abstract: Thirteen samples of drill cuttings from Magee 1 Petroleum well were sent to Genalysis Laboratory Services in Perth for analysis. Samples were tasted for Ca, Cl, K, Mg, Na and S. The purpose of sampling was to determine if potash (KCl) was present in the samples from the Chandler Formation, a known salt rich horizon in the Amadeus Basin. Sample results indicate low levels of potassium which indicates either the Chandler Formation at this location is not rich in potassium or maybe the potassium was dissolved by drilling fluids and fresh water whilst the well was being drilled. Further research and a diamond drill hole is needed to confirm the presence or otherwise of potash deposits in the Chandler Formation. Rum Jungle Uranium hold EL 27048 over this area.
