Drillhole/Well Name: | DD97AS001; DD97AS002 |
Abstract: | As part of the ongoing exploration program within EL 24566 'Ngalia Thrust', Uranium Exploration Australia Limited [UXA] conducted geological logging and geochemical sampling of two historical drill holes, DD97AS001 and DD97AS002, drilled by Rio Tinto in 1997 [Davies, 1998]. DD97AS001 was drilled within the present day boundaries of EL 24566 and will be referred to as 'Annie Springs' throughout the remainder of this report. The purpose of sampling was to determine any potential geochemical, textural and compositional variations within the granite at Annie Springs compared with other available samples of the Southwark Granite Suite, both within EL 24566 and surrounding areas. Also of importance was any evidence of potential fluid flow/alteration and uranium accumulation associated with BIF present within the area. |
