Abstract: The 1963 Money Shoal Aeromagnetic Survey was conducted by Adastra Hunting Geophysics Pty Ltd on behalf of Alliance Oil Development Australia NL within OP8, located approximately 40 miles from Darwin, NT. The main purpose od the survey was to gain information on the depth to basement, configuration and grain of basement, trends of major structural features including faults, magnetic intrusives and basin edge where applicable. Information obtained from this survey will further help in define zones of interest in the search for oil bearing structures to which further exploration techniques could be further applied. The depths of basement on Bathurst and Melville Islands vary between approximately 1,000 and 3,000 feet. Depths are believed to increase in the northwest and northeast.
