Title: 1969 Ngalia Basin Gravity Survey - Acquisition, Processing & Interpretation Report
Title Holder / Company: Magellan Petroleum
Report id: PR1969-0019
Tenure: OP165
Year: 1969
Corporate Author: Geophysical Associates
Abstract: The 1969 Ngalia Ground Gravity Survey was carried out by Geophysical Associates Pty Ltd for Magellan Petroleum within OP165 in the Ngalia Basin. The primary purpose of the survey was to determine whether or not gravity anomalies contribute to the interpretation of the seismic results.
Ngalia Trough has similar gravitational characters to the Amadeus Basin. Faults defined by gravity correspond fairly well with fault defined by seismic. Concluded that gravity data can be a significant aid to seismic surveys conducted within this area. More detailed gravity work is planned for the area if promising results are obtained from this project. The information will be helpful in programming future seismic work.
