Abstract: | Petty Ray Geophysical carried out the 1965 Skull Creek Seismic Survey on behalf of Australian Aquitaine Petroleum Pty Ltd within OP2. 3 seismic lines were shot as part of this survey with a total distance of 39.6km. The main objective of this survey was to determine if the Pincombe Range does indeed extend northward, to locate a high along this structural trend, and to gain an idea of the thickness of the sediments by refraction probe. Results of both the reflection and refraction shooting were very poor. Refraction probes on Line SC-2 indicate that the sedimentary section may be as thick as 8000ft in this location. An anticlinal high on Line SC-1 and east dip Line SC-2 indicate that a structural high may exist. |
