Abstract: | The 1968 Keep River Seismic Survey was carried out by Geophysical Service International for Westralian Oil Ltd in permit OL1, approximately 32.2km to 48.3km east of Kununurra. 6 lines seismic lines of 600% Common depth point stack were shot with a total distance of 59.7km. The main objectives of the study were to extend previous coverage to the southwest of the Spirit Hill No.1 to determine if critical south and west dip exist on the postulated feature, to evaluate the tectonics on the southern portion of OL1 and to attempt penetration at depth in excess of 0.8sed which is the deepest penetration of previous surveys. Record quality was fair to good with poor record quality observed in fault zones. To the south the north dip recorded in the area is of interest and a program should be extended south to ascertain that no possible drill location is overlooked. |
