Abstract: The 1962 Keep River Seismic Survey was conducted by Geophysical Service International for Mines Administration Pty Ltd on behalf of the Associated Group within OP2, 112.7km East of Windham, WA. The seismic survey acquired 6 lines of seismic reflective data with a total distance of 69.2km. Additionally 77.3km of refraction seismic data was also recorded as part of the survey.
The survey was conducted to determine the thickness and structural configuration of the Palaeozoic sedimentary section in the Keep River area of the Bonaparte Gulf Basin.
A broad structural high area is shown near the intersection of refraction lines A and B. A refractor tentatively identified as the top of the Burt Range Limestone (Devonian) shows an increase in depth from 700 feet in the southeast to approximately 7000 feet on the western margin of the area.
