Abstract: | The BNT80 Seismic Survey was conducted by Austral United Geophysical Pty Ltd within OP186 on behalf of Australian Aquitaine Petroleum Pty Ltd. The program consisted of 7 new, 12-fold coverage seismic lines with a total of 141.2km. Gravity measurements were made along all the lines of the seismic program, plus an additional 107km along six profiles situated in the eastern part of the permit. The gravity data acquisition and compilation was conducted by Solo Geophysics & Co. for Australian Aquitaine Petroleum. The acquired seismic data was sent to Geophysical Services International for further processing. 12-fold stacked sections were the output, employing correlation, velocity filtering, deconvolution, crooked line processing where requested and time-variant filtering. Along with the lines obtained from this survey, additional reprocessing of the selected lines from the 1972 Border Creek Seismic Survey and the 1967 Oakes Creek Seismic Survey were conducted by Digicon. These processed and reprocessed seismic lines were then interpreted by the geophysical staff at Australian Aquitaine Petroleum and despite all the attempts made during acquisition and processing, the data quality remained poor to very poor. |
