Abstract: The 1967 Oakes Creek 2D Seismic and Gravity Survey was carried out by Compagnie Generale de Geophysique on behalf of Australian Aquitaine Petroleum Pty Ltd within OP2. The survey was able to acquire 11 new seismic lines with a total distance of 126.4km and 1 refraction traverse line was also recorded. Gravity readings were taken at every fourth reflection shot point, at every second refraction trace and on three supplementary gravity lines. The main objective of this survey was to define the structural trend shown on the line SC1 (1965 Skull Creek 2D Seismic Survey).
The acquired data was sent to Geophysical Service International for further processing.
Survey showed that basement is dipping northwards and the layers above are undulated with a high north-south axis. An east-west fault zone crosses the area. A structure is suggested north of the fault zone.
