Abstract: | These are alluvial gold mining leases and the bedrock gold source is being sought. Lack of water due to unseasonally dry conditions hampered operations. Costeaning and trenching was carried out on the schists north and south of Pod Hill. This lithology could be traced the length of MCS 157 and 209. Gold was found to the south. Heavier equipment, such as D9 or 10 and a >40 excavator, will be required for further sampling. MCS 334 has been dropped and no work was carried out on MCS 335. Estimated alluvial reserves are 9,200 tonnes at unspecified grade. |
