Title: Annual report for MLS 154 Dead Bullock Soak for the year to 11 February 2005
Title Holder / Company: Newmont Tanami
Report id: CR2005-0161
Tenure: MLS154
Year: 2005
Author: Lindskog, L
Abstract: Mining operations undertaken by Newmont Tanami Pty Ltd on MLS 154, Dead Bullock Soak, produced for the calendar year to December 2004, 444,052 ounces of gold. Gold was treated at the mill facility in MLS8 The Granites. Ore milled from MLS154 during the year came from mining of the Callie underground resource (Callie UG ROM and Callie UG LG) and the mineralised waste stockpile from the Callie pit. Exploration drilling targets on MLS 154 including Wilson and Federation Shoot tested for down plunge extension of mineralisation, quartz vein corridors and favorable stratigraphy for gold deposition in the Callie Antinclinorium. Resource infill drilling was also undertaken on these targets later during the year. Underground exploration drilling tested the mineralization and the stratigraphic sequence of the northern limb of the Lantin Anticline and potential down plunge extension of mineralization on the Central Shoot. A sequence stratigraphy study undertaken in conjunction with Geoscience Australia during the last reporting period is still ongoing, report pending. It utilizes geochemical samples from pre-existing MLS 154 drill holes to provide a classification for rock type recognition outside the lease. An aerial photographic survey was flown over the DBS lease and provided new digital elevation model information of the mining lease. Two separate reports on the petrology and geochemistry are also included with the document.
