Abstract: | This is the Second Annual Report for the Frances Creek Project (FMP) comprising now only EL's 10043 and 10167. Another EL, 9899, was surrendered during the year. Base metal mineralisation associated with the predicted carbonates and black shales remains the primary target. Additional rock chip, auger soil sampling and geophysics has given mixed results during the year. Reconnaissance work during the year has consisted of systematic soil sampling along Line T11 and ad hoc rock chip sampling in an area of dolomite/limestone/black shales in the south of EL 10167. The now well-defined strong but small magnetic anomaly is definitely due to a concealed magnetic body. The coordinates of the stronger, shallower body are GPS WGS 84 8503460N, 819100E. The Line T11 survey was 2.8km long and soil samples were taken at 50m intervals. The line itself was at a bearing of 045 degrees in order to traverse the strike of the poorly outcropping stratigraphy. |
