Abstract: | During the year under review, a technical review of available data (geological, geochemical and geophysical) was undertaken which suggested that project area has potential for gold and base metals mineralisation. 111 soil samples were also collected and assayed for gold and base metals mineralisation. Although, most of the samples returned disappointing results, east of the Copperfield prospect, assay results were more encouraging, where samples returned strongly anomalous results including 1.01, 1.57 and 2.03 ppm Au. This area was characterised by quartz vein systems and provide evidence of gold prospectivity. An appraisal of data gathered so far suggests that project area has potential for gold and base metal mineralisation. Subtle magnetic anomalies in the southern part of project may be considered exploration targets. Further exploration at McLachlan has to be limited to more geological traversing to map out potentially mineralised structures. It is recommended that subtle magnetic anomalies should be tested with RC drilling. |
