Abstract: | EL 30225 is a stand-alone EL that straddles the Central Australian Railway, 210-220 km northwest of Tennant Creek. It is held to explore for Cambrian rock phosphate. Rum Jungle Resources has undertaken an in-house assessment of the waterbores in the general area and a reappraisal of previous work by CSIRO and Vale. The areas most prospective for phosphate above the watertable have been delineated. Conversely, this work also led to the decision to partially relinquish 55 blocks from the previous 163. These relinquished blocks are a combination of: high standing groundwater level above the target interval; the ecologically-sensitive area in the Lake Woods Site of Conservation Significance; the logistically-difficult area inundated when Lake Woods is full; and the area considered geologically least prospective for phosphate. Only desktop studies have been undertaken on the blocks relinquished. |
