Abstract: | During the reporting period NADL excavated 5 bulk sample pits and transported 8 samples offsite for processing and recovery of diamonds. The sampled material comprised alluvial gravels associated with the McArthur River palaeochannels. A total of 22 diamonds were recovered for a combined weight of 1.09 carats. The results are not considered economic however do confirm that the alluvial gravels are diamondiferous. A better understanding of the architecture of the palaeosystem is required prior to additional bulk sampling and to achieve this it is appropriate to undertake a small reverse circulation drilling program. NADL also completed rehabilitation of the bulk sampling sites during the reporting period. |
