Abstract

The report details exploration activities during the licence life. These included soil sampling, MMI geochemical sampling and RAB drilling. In addition, Landsat and SPOT Imagery, AGSO mapping, aerial magnetics and remote sensing data were used in conjuction with aerial mapping to determine the best method of exloration to be used. GIS and satellite imagery were used to log soil types and to interpret the structural geology of the region. The first soil sampling completed within the western part of the licence returned disappointing results. RAB drilling encountered widespread, background to low level gold and arsenic anomalism with the peak values obtained 498 ppb Au, 230 ppb Au and 510 ppb Au. MIM geochemical soil sampling targeting an anomalous gold zone, identified by RAB drilling returned disappointing results, the highest value was 0.55 ppb Au. Infill MMI sampling was completed over the southern block and returned low order gold anomaly with maximum values of 0.88 ppb Au and 3.18 ppb Au. During the 1999/2005 field season, an infill soil sampling program was conducted over the EL, with 39 B-horizon soil samples being collected. These returned peak values of 7 ppb Au and 11 ppb Au. In total 119 soil samples, 105 MMI samples, and numerous samples from the RAB drilling were assayed during the life of tenure. Low order gold values in both the MMI and infill soil sampling have downgraded the potential to discover economic gold mineralisation within the licence.
