Abstract: This report summarises all work done on Orlando tenements during 1989 to 2000. Orlando Mine was a significant gold, copper and bismuth producer for for 17 yeas for Peko. During this period 322,000 tonnes of ore at 11.7 g-t Au and 1.5 % Cu was mined from underground operations at depths from 100 to 300 m below surface. When Normandy acquired the Orlando leases then trial pi was completed and 62,000 tonnes of ore at 4.5 g-t. On the next stage production from the pit was of 68,900 tonnes at 3.7 g-t of oxide ore and 272,000 tonnes at 5.2 g-t Au of transition zone. Extensive exploration programs were carried out including one diamond drill hole and seven RC drill holes and helimagnetic surveys. Helimagnetic survey identified several magnetic features within the Orlando leases. Drilling within the vicinity of the Orlando Mine tested the potential for repetition of mineralisation below the open pit and immediately to the north. Preliminary assays indicate little potential for additional mineralisation in the areas tested. The area that constituted MCC 977 to 980 has now been replaced with MLC 699.
