Abstract: This report details evaluation of the Mathison Creek Barite deposit. Total barite resource for the four evaluated lodes is 6,600 tonnes per vertical metre. Of this, 100 000 tonnes has been classified as indicated to 15m below present ground surface. An additional 100 000 tonnes is inferred between 15m and 30m depth. Barite grade is suitable for use as a weighting agent for drilling mud (average specific gravity greater than 4.2 g-t and water soluble alkali earths less than 250 ppm). Poor visual colour precludes other industrial usage. At present Mathison Creek barite deposit is perceived to be uneconomic to exploit.
