Abstract: | During reporting period, an appraisal of geological and geophysical data was under taken in order to assess mineral potential of the project area. A structural interpretation with the help of geophysical data was also conducted, which provided important subsurface information. In addition, a number of field trips were undertaken for ground-truthing. These rocks are folded into anticlinal structures which generally plunge southward. These anticlinal structures are host to gold mineralisation (e.g Zapopan and Howley anticlines) in the PCO. All the rock formations present in the project area appears to be prospective for gold and base metals mineralisation. An appraisal of geological, structural and geophysical data indicates that EL 28496 has potential for gold and base metals mineralisation. As much of the project area is concealed under recent sedimentary cover. It is recommended a geochemical sampling program should be undertaken assisted by air core drilling. Of particular interest is the hinge zone of anticlinal structure, characterised by conductor and, that should be tested by air core drilling and geochemical sampling. In addition, high resolution geophysical survey should be conducted in order to understand sub-surface geological structure more accurately. |
