Abstract: | A review of all available public information on EL 25694 Central Mount, was completed. This work identified several low level radiometric anomalies coincident with granite outcrops, within which there were mapped pegmatite veins. A third anomalous area appeared to correspond to a drainage channel and was considered a potential site for a calcrete uranium deposit. During the 2008 field season these anomalies were investigated. One area of anomalism was associated with a 'hot' feldspar rich possibly fractionated granite, no pegmatites were discovered however uranium assays from samples of the granite contained up to 50ppm uranium. In another location altered schists and ironstone gave up to 80ppm uranium over a large area. Both areas have been targeted for detailed followup however protracted joint venture discussions during 2009 resulted in no field work being carried out. |
