Abstract: | Universal Splendour Investments Pty Ltd was originally granted EL 27960 in April 2011. It is located in the Borroloola region in the Northern Territory. The tenement is part of a group of six tenements collectively referred to as the Carpentaria project. Manganese continues to be the main target commodity for this tenement, however due to the proximity to Redbank Copper Mine located southeast of the tenement, copper is also a target for the EL. Although the lease is almost entirely covered by sediments of the Echo Sandstone Formation, NTGS have also identified Gold Creek Volcanics outcropping to the east, known to host the copper mineralisation at Redbank. EL 27960 was not visited during the reporting period, and limited office time has been attributed to it. An exploration strategy including an integrated geophysical interpretation, field mapping and sample collection has been developed for the 2012 field season. |
