Abstract: | MMI soil sample results from the 1996-97 field season have been submitted. The MMI soil sample program highlighted a gold anomalous zone which was followed up with a rock chip sampling program consisting of 20 samples that outlined an anomalous gold-arsenic anomaly extending 400x25m. Fifteen of the samples returned assay results greater than 1 g-t Au with the better results being 28.7 and 10.5 g-t Au. Four costeans were excavated across the anomalous zone and initial selected rock chip samples returned results to 7.59 g-t Au. Channel samples at 3m intervals along the costeans returned 3 anomalous zones within costeans 1 and 2, two zones in costean 3 and one in costean 4. The better results were obtained within costean 1 and include 9m at 0.437 g-t Au, 84m at 0.219 g-t Au and 6m at 0.65 g-t Au. |
