Abstract: During 2014, a mud rotary (RM) and diamond drilling (DD) program was designed to test conductive features highlighted by the EM survey and for Devonian Sandstone hosted targets. Due to unfavourable results obtained from the first phase of mud rotary drilling, a paired back diamond core program was performed. Two DD holes for a total of 420 m (including 93.5 m of pre-collar RM) were drilled during the 2014 campaign. The main outcome resulting from the drilling is that no Tertiary palaeochannels were identified where a conductive VTEM anomaly indicated a potential palaeochannel. The upper sediments were deeply weathered, oxidised, calcrete, silcrete, clays and sands, up to 35 metres in depth. These sediments could represent remnants of Tertiary weathering profiles however, due to the intense weathering it is difficult to decipher where these units lie stratigraphically. Higher clay content was observed where the conductive VTEM anomalies were showing and no channel features were identified.
