Abstract: Initial screening of EL 7756 using stream sediment sampling produced highly encouraging gold results during Year 1 exploration. Clusters of anomalous results were returned from several areas of the licence, suggesting the region was prospective for gold mineralisation. Follow-up evaluation of the anomalous drainage geochemistry to the south has been completed during Year 2 and 3 using 200m spaced soil sample traverses. Results from this work have been disappointing and have not readily identified potential local sources for the stream anomalies. The Driffield area is known to host alluvial gold so it may be possible that the gold in the creeks does not originate from within EL 7756. The gold may have been transported from the Driffield Mine area located 1 km to the north. Year 1 soil sampling to the north within EL 7756 similarly returned subdued gold values, despite the presence of strongly anomalous drainage geochemistry.
