Abstract: | MLNs 808, 821 and 869 form the Tally Ho group. Extensive costeaning in 1993 confirmed some areas of mineable grade ore running 2 g-t gold. Bulk sampling was approved by the Department in November 1994. This approval was for the removal of 2,000 tonnes. Three areas for bulk sampling were identified. These included part of MLN 808 which exploration assays indicated contained gold ore with a grade of 4 g-t. Drilling, blasting and mining of the 2,000 t sample began on MLN 869. As the entire tonnage was easily recoverable here, the two other bulk sample sites were not touched. The target grade for the bulk sample was 5 g-t with highs of 36 g-t and lows of 0.5 g-t gold. 300 tonnes of ore was moved to the Cosmo Howley plant in December but the Wet Season prevented any further haulage. No further details of the processing were available. |
