Abstract: | The exploration program during 1993-1994, the third year of tenure, included an airborne magnetic survey and sub-regional gravity survey leading to selection of two new target areas (Charlotte and Smiggins). Ground magnetic, and IP surveys and magnetic modelling led to selection of traverses for RC drill testing. Twenty RC holes were completed at Charlotte and six at Smiggins. Although minor gold anomalism was detected, results were generally disappointing. They did, however, indicate that the effectiveness of previous surface soil sampling is questionable in some areas and that bedrock sampling may be a more effective exploration tool. |
