Abstract: | Exploration within the project area consists of a regional aeromagnetic survey combined with 1:25 000 geological gapping aimed at developing an understanding of the area. This is generally followed by or in conjunction with reconnaissance geochemistry programme, lag, and rock chip samples. Other programmes undertaken on selected targets include vacuum drilling, ground EM, IP and magnetic surveys with follow up by RAB, RC percussion and diamond drilling. In many of the older tenements the reconnaissance programme has been completed. The reconnaissance program within EL 7122 has defined 2 zones of anomalous geochemistry in the central portion of the EL. These zones are both over the northern extensions of NW trending magnetic anomaly. A third less well defined zone occurs in the central NW of the licence over a magnetic low. Spot high over non prospective lithologies in the north of the EL appear erroneous. In EL 2367 a programme of vacuum drilling, rock chip sampling, trenching and RAB drilling has helped to outline 3 prospective areas (Erin, Kate and Imogene) within Anomaly 2. Drilling at Imogene has defined an area of some 1000x300m. The mineralisation appears to increase in grade and width with depth at Imogene. Drilling at Kate gave only spotty values. East Ptilotus (EL 2369) prospect is centred on a large overturned south plunging anticline |
