Abstract: | 115 soil-rock chip samples were collected from areas containing radiometric anomalies and 2 RC drill holes totalling 132m (CN001 and 002) were drilled. The results from sampling combined with mapping indicate that the elevated uranium values (to 3x background) are associated with topographic highs of ferruginous units of the Daly River Group unconformably overlying South Alligator Group sediments. Geological mapping showed 4 zones of quartz stringers, the strongest of which is associated with the central axial zone of the Howley Anticline. Costeaning, rock chip sampling and drilling showed elevated gold values in stockwork-quartz breccia contained with the Zamu Dolerite and-or Gerowie Tuff. Costeaning highlighted a zone of 10m at 1.9g-t Au and 8m at 3.0g-t Au. |
