Abstract: | SEL 7423 was granted to PNC Exploration (Australia) Pty Ltd on the 24th April 1991 for a period of 4 years. The SEL is being explored by WMC under the terms and conditions of the Western Desert Joint Venture. The exploration program during 1992-1993, the second year of tenure, included ground magnetic surveys at Perisher and Blue Cow Prospects, a lag geochemical survey at Blue Cow Prospect, and an RC drilling program at Perisher Prospect. At Blue Cow Prospect a spotty Au lag anomaly occurs over an area of 800m x 400m and is interpreted to relate to weakly auriferous quartz vein arrays in wacks of the Killi Killi Beds. At Perisher Prospect RC drill doles intersected elevated gold values in one hole (WDTC 5). Mineralisation at Perisher is related to NE trending quartz veins in a mixed sequence of rocks belonging to the Paleoproterozoic Mount Charles Beds. |
