Abstract: Report summarises regional mineralisation association. 940m of costeaning undertaken in 1990, of which 850m were carried out at Star of the North and the remainder at Johns Hill. In addition 19 RC drill holes totalling 1096m were completed. 11 holes were at Star of the North and 8 holes were drilled at Johns Hill. Mineralisation at Johns Hill and Star of the North is hosted in the Lower Proterozoic Burrell Creek Formation. For the Johns Hill prospect the quartz vein gold mineralisation occurs adjacent and parallel to the axial plane zone and in bedding conformable saddle reefs. The former occurs as a sub-vertical plane, 14m wide hosted in greywacke. The estimated inferred resource for Johns Hill is 40 000t grading 1.3g-t with the ore body open to the north and south. At Star of the North, the mineralisation consists of quartz vein systems, trending parallel to the axial plane zone or conformable with bedding. Some auriferous veining cuts across the axial plane, continuing the same trend conformable on one side and transcurrent on the other. If continuity is established between the two sections (17800N and 17900N) the potential exists for 50 000 to 60 000 tonnes grading at 2.0g-t Au.
