Abstract: The current work programme was aimed a optimising the level of vanadium released from the host sandstone. 25 percent of the vanadium is released during uranium extraction under optimal conditions for the release of uranium. Preliminary work suggests that strong acid extraction remains the most satisfactory means of extraction of both vanadium and uranium.
