Title: EL 6424 Annual report 8 May 1990 to 7 May 1991
Title Holder / Company: Biddlecombe RM
Report id: CR1991-0322
Tenure: EL6424
Year: 1991
Abstract: RAB drilling of the linear dyke and associated breccia pipe designated as the Southern Anomaly confirmed that it was the source of chromites and microdiamonds previously recovered. The deposit is small and uneconomic but will be tested next year for any commercial sized diamonds. The Northern Anomaly has been traced to an old plantation surface. Review of airborne magnetics in this locality highlighted a magnetic anomaly near the chromite bearing creek. Ground magnetics suggested that this anomaly is deep seated and probably associated with basement. RAB drilling of the Cretaceous cover proved negative. Loam sampling to the north returned a vague chromite zone.
