Abstract: An initial programme of rock chip geochemistry and geological mapping indicated that gold mineralisation is localised, associated with the intersection of regional shearing trending 350-020 degrees N and cross shears at 290-330 degrees N. Gold is associated with gossanous and limonitic quartz veins. From this it was apparent that there was little chance of large scale disseminated mineralisation. Subsequently 16 RC percussion drilling were completed at Lady Jane and Lady Mary with disappointing results in general. A best result of 1m at 66g-t Au was obtained at Lady Mary and 2m at 6.6g-t Au at Lady Jane. Following this 7 RC percussion drill holes were completed at 5 lower priority targets, with a best result of 2m at 14.9g-t Au and 1m at 6.02g-t Au from RCD2. All other holes failed to intersect significant mineralisation. An auger drilling programme at the Driffield tailings showed an average grade of 0.75g-t Au.
