Title: Report on drilling activities at North Czarina MLN 13 July 1991
Title Holder / Company: Pine Creek Goldfields
Report id: CR1991-0624
Tenure: MLN13
Year: 1991
Author: Yeo, WJ
Abstract: A total of 16 RC drill holes were drilled during July-August 1991 for a total of 2,182m. Drilling aimed at testing down-dip extensions to the Czarina resource. Results were low but consistent with the current geological model for Czarina. Most target zone intersections closely coincide with projected intersections from extrapolating the resource boundaries defined in the earlier evaluation drilling programmes. The resource thins and breaks up into narrower zones in the down-dip direction. Ore grade intersections have only been reported in three drillholes, two of which occur within the current pit design. This would not justify further optimisation of the design since all additional ore grade material is already within the proposed Czarina pit. However, the recoverable reserves within the current pit design are expected to increase by 25,000-35,000 tonnes.
