Abstract: This reports concerns the package of MCNs known as Mount Tymn that is being explored by BHP Billiton under JV to the leaseholder, Mr Hamilton. The most prospective central potion of the area area was geologically mapped. A ground magnetic study was carried out and the low tenor anomalies tested by drilling. Twelve 100 m deep RC holes were drilled on geophysical targets, geochemical anomalies or sited with respect to old workings. All intercepts were low, most being at or below 0.01 ppm Au. MTRC 007 was the best drillhole with 7m downhole at 25 g/t, but the true width is probably half this. Results were considered disappointing and BHP withdrew form the JV.
