Abstract: | Rock chip sampling of veins to the north of the Old Company prospect returned values of 1.49 grams per tonne maximum and many low order results of 0.2-0.3 grams per tonne Au, suggesting that the mineralisation from the Old Company prospect persists northwards under the alluvial cover. To the south of Old Camp the large NW trending quartz veins are barren but the tourmaline selvages assayed 3.73 grams per tonne. Other veins returned 0.01ppm suggesting that mineralisation may not be near the surface. The pegmatites sampled did not carry gold mineralisation. Samples from the Chinaman's Hill tin workings in the syncline returned low, near barren results. The most prospective area within ERL 88 is the Old Company Prospect. |
