Title: | 1988 Annual exploration report for The Granites |
Title Holder / Company: | North Flinders Exploration |
Report id: | CR1989-0264 |
Tenure: | EL2366; EL2367; EL2369; EL2370 |
Year: | 1989 |
Abstract: | This report summarises work carried out on EL's 2366, 2367, 2369 and 2370 by North Flinders Mines Ltd in the twelve month period to March 24, 1989 being the first period following granting of the EL's. Work consisted of a regional airborne geophysical programme and interpretation, compilation of existing geological information, reconnaissance mapping and vacuum drilling. This led to the identification of two mineralised areas where work was concentrated for the remainder of the year. On the Lennard Ridge and Dead Bullock Soak prospects, work consisted of provision of access, grid establishment, vacuum geological mapping and rock chip sampling, ground magnetic surveys and reverse circulation drilling. No encouraging mineralisation was located at Lennard Ridge, but at Dead Bullock Soak potentially economic grades of gold mineralisation were located and intersected in several drill holes and will be further tested during 1989. |
