Abstract: Eight Mineral Claims (MCN's 2519, 1642, 1643, 1030 - 1034) at Mt Ringwood are being actively worked in a joint venture between Billiton Australia (Managers) and Mr G. Hamilton of Queenland. The MCN's are located approximately 60km east of Adelaide River within a belt of Early Proterozoic Burrell Creek Formation comprising siltstone, sandy siltstone and siliceous greywacke. Steeply dipping bedding to the east and west indicate that the formation has suffered isoclinal folding with a North North West-striking fold axis. Bold mineralisation is hosted in sub-vertical quartz veins and stockwork vein sets parallel to axial-plane cleavage. Soil sampling traverses across the MCN's and geological mapping are proposed as a preliminary exploration programme to delineate drilling targets for early in the second half of 1989.
