Abstract: | A ground traverse was carried out on the southern boundary of exploration licence 24052 in order to ground check an anticlinal valley which could contain favourable stratigraphy for manganese mineralisation. The stratigraphy of choice is lower Bootu Creek - upper Attack Creek formations. A recent discovery of unexposed shallow manganese mineralisation on neighbouring EL 23495, showed manganiferous laterite pisoliths and manganese in nearby anthills. The ground traverse carried out on EL 24052 ground checked laterite pisoliths and anthills for indications of manganese mineralisation without success. OM Manganese undertook a geological and geophysical study as part of a due diligence evaluation in view of a possible joint venture over the tenement. |
