Title: Annual report 11 July 1987 to 10 July 1988 MLC 527 Hammerjack Extended
Title Holder / Company: Adelaide Petroleum

Abstract: No work completed during the reporting period. The area was drilled by Australian Development (ADL) in 1963-1964 with some good intercepts. It was estimated that there were about 100 tonnes of 22 grams gold per tonne. A trial shaft was begun in the 1970s but abandoned without reaching the lode. ADL drilled the HAP series of angled percussion holes to better define the strike and dip of mineralisation. HAP-8 intersected two metres of 1.45 grams per tonne Au below the NE Shaft. Quadic drilled one angled diamond hole to only 35.5 m a few metres west of the same shaft as HAP-8. The best assay was 22m to 25 m which averaged 1.57 grams gold per tonne. Adpet-Sabminco JV drilled QHE 1 and SAHE 1 and SAHE 2. The latter intersected individual 1 m intervals that exceeded 8 grams per tonne with the best being 20.3 grams per tonne Au. It was probably drilled close to down dip of the lode. The report contains logs and assays for holes SAHE 1 and 2 holes. It was recommended that no drilling deeper than 25 m be undertaken and than further work should concentrate on near-surface ore.
