Abstract: | Exploration for base metals and tungsten in EL 3301 went through a number of stages. This included; Geological mapping and recognition of lithological and structural control of the ore bodies; Detailed airborne magnetometer survey leading to a structural synthesis and recognition of 5 magnetically anamalous horizons, with known ore bodies and ore potential; Exploration drilling of those targets (point 2) and extentions to known ore bodies; Regional assessment of tungsten mineralization leading to 90,000 tonnes of near-surface reserves of scheelite at 0.46 percent WO3; Geochemical exploration based on traces of heavy metals in host rock sheet silicates; Costeaning and drilling of surface anomalies of Cu, Pb, Zn and WO3; and Possibilities of another Green Parrot type of ore body of similiar grades (+10percent (Pb+Zn)+ 100 gr A grams per tonne) and tonnage at Killeen. A number of prospects have enough promise to justify further assessment in the form of exploration Retention Lease; Killeen, Bellbird Extention, Bellbird Scheelite, Green Parrot Scheelite, Reward Extention and Pioneer. |
