Abstract: CRA Exploration Pty Ltd (CRAE), during the second year of Joint Venture Agreement with W and L Appel carried out a drilling programme to test previously identified potential gold-bearing targets on the Sheridan, GML 774E, lease area. During the first year of the agreement (1984) an area of excess mass was delineated by detailed gravity surveys The anomaly was downdip from surface outcrops of quartz-haematite ironstone over some 100 x l00m of surface area. This geophysical target was tested in the current year with four conventional openhole percussion drillholes aggregating 318m. Two metres grading 4.3 grams per tonne gold within an overall 50m anomalous gold intersect was encountered in percussion drillhole PD85SH3. The grades are not considered encouraging enough for CRAE to continue in the Joint Venture Agreement.
