Title: Annual report for MCN 523 Kohinoor Alluvial, Pine Creek
Title Holder / Company: Australian Coal and Gold Holdings
Report id: CR1985-0114
Tenure: MCN523
Year: 1985
Author: Porter, DJ
Abstract: Alluvial gold mining was carried out on MCN 523 over a six month period with treatment of 13,000 tonnes of ore for a recovery of 113.03 fine ozs of gold. The grade of treated ore was 0.27 grams Au per tonne which is very low. Coupled with 1982-1983 production, the total production on MCN 523 is 30,000 tonnes for a recovery of 250.54 fine ozs of gold. The quantity of alluvium treated and spread of mining sites is now considered sufficiently representative to support a grade estimate of 0.26 gms Au per tonne. At a grade estimate of 0.26 ems per tonne the Kohinoor - Eleanor alluvial gold deposit on MCN 523 must be considered marginally viable under 1984-1985 economic conditions.
