Abstract: | Exploration Pty Ltd (CRAE), under Joint Venture Agreement with L, Appel and E, Johnson, carried out gold exploration on the Mt Samuel, (3ML 793E, lease area. CRAE carried out a detailed grid and level survey with photogrammetic mapping at 1:1000 scale to establish a base for geological mapping and geophysical surveys. These surveys entailed geological mapping at 1:1000 scale detailed ground magnetics at five metre station spacing and 50m line and a detailed gravity survey on 25m centres at 50 and l00m line intervals. The area of anomalous magnetics with coincident excess mass was delineated. The anomaly is down dip from surface outcrops of quartz -haematite ironstone over some 200m of strike length. Modelling of the geophysical data suggests considerable downpitch extent of ironstone and drillholes have been designed to test the body at depth below the zone of surface leaching. |
