Title: | Annual and final report for Stokes Yard EL 24438 for the period ending 4 September 2013 |
Title Holder / Company: | Northern Mining |
Report id: | CR2013-0802 |
Tenure: | EL24438 |
Year: | 2013 |
Author: | Townsend-Hick, R |
Abstract: | The tenement contains the Stokes Yard Zinc-Copper-Lead prospect, which is hosted by the 1690-1610 Ma Madderns Yard Complex of the Warumpi Province. In the second year of tenure, an 80 percent interest in EL 24438 was purchased by Northern Mining Limited, with Imperial Granite and Mining Pty Ltd retaining 20 percent. Geological mapping, rockchip sampling and a detailed ground magnetic survey were completed during the second year of tenure. In the fifth year of tenure, EL 24438 was covered by an airborne geophysical survey to assist with understanding the regional structural controls of mineralisation and aiding exploration. A reverse circulation/diamond drilling programme was planned for the sixth year, but unfortunately, extreme wet conditions in 2010/11 led to the cancellation of Northern Mining's scheduled field work in Central Australia. In the seventh year of tenure, no field work was completed due to extensive bush fires forcing further cancellation of field work. Nevertheless, EL 24438 was reviewed with regards the ASTER imagery released by the Northern Territory Geological Survey and CSIRO in May 2012. Northern Mining still rates the prospectivity of EL 24438 as very high, however, due to lack of funds and no resident geologist, no work was carried out in Year 8 on the tenement. |
