Abstract: Application for EL 28540 was made on 29 December 2010 over eight sub-blocks formerly of EL 27028. The tenement was granted on 7 September 2011 for a period of six years. On 29 July 2013, four sub-blocks were nominated from EL 28540 for relinquishment at the second anniversary to meet the reduction of 50 percent required under the 2010 Mineral Titles Act. The tenement was reduced to the minimum size of four sub-blocks from 7 September 2013. No field activities were undertaken on EL 28540 on the surrendered portion during the reporting period from grant on 7 September 2011 up to 6 September 2013. A review was undertaken of published geological mapping, reprocessed airborne magnetics datasets and imagery, and publicly available surface geochemical datasets over the south-west region of the Borroloola Project, including EL 28540. It was concluded that because of the geochemical response, the four sub-blocks relinquished had lesser potential for significant base metals mineralisation. Further investigation into diamonds potential of the retained area of EL 28540 is proposed.
