Title Holder / Company: Giants Reef Mining

Year: 2000
Author: Simpson, PG
Abstract: This report summarises all work done on the south part of the relinquished portion of the licence. Work included gridding, soil geochemistry, rock chip sampling, RC drilling, down - hole probing and magnetic modelling. A subtle Bi-Ag-As anomaly trending northwest was identified north of the Western Moon prospect. Rock chip sampling returned only low assays for Au, Cu and Bi with the maximum respective values 0.03, 71 and 5ppm. No significant mineralisation was intersected by drilling, the presence of chloritic alteration was viewed as an encouraging sign. No off-hole sources were noted in the down - hole probing. Aeromagnetic data show two distinct dipolar anomalies, 200m apart at the Western Moon prospect. The drilling program targeted on the outcropping ironstone rather than on the magnetics.
