Abstract: | A program of regional reconnaissance, mapping, geophysical survey data image processing and interpretation was undertaken on the relinquished blocks. The area relinquished is mainly immature sediments of the Tertiary Hale BASIN sequence overlying Palaeoproterozoic biotite gneiss /calc silicate, marble of Strangway Metamorphic Complex representing an enormous hiatus between depositional events (1750 million years) thus representing possible sedimentary uranium accumulations in organic - rich layers at base of Waite Formation which is up to 80m thick over low-lying depressions within the palaeo-surface of the relinquished area however as previous explorer's have already tested this hypothesis with up to 100 RAB drill holes (ALCOA 1980,RUM 2008) for nil assay results the area was dropped . |
