Abstract: This is the First Annual Report for Whistle Duck Project EL 27990 and EL 27991 for the period ending 25 October 2011. Whistle Duck, located approximately 120 km SE of Tennant Creek, is a sub-project of Vale's Georgina Phosphate Exploration Project and covers flat lying to shallow dipping Cambrian rocks of the Georgina Basin ranging in age from late Proterozoic to early Palaeozoic. Outcrop is limited to the west with much of the basement geology concealed beneath Tertiary and Quaternary sediments. The eastern part has significantly more Proterozoic and Cambrian subcrop and outcrop. Phosphate exploration work on Whistle Duck in 2011 consisted of an open file literature review, compilation and review of publicly available geological maps and geophysical data, acquisition of NRETAS environmental data, AAPA Certificate, a flora and fauna desktop study, geophysical modelling and drill targeting. Exploration proposed for 2012 includes field mapping and reconnaissance, geochemistry sampling and RC drilling of generated targets.
